The 18th International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (VSMM 2012) is dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of 3D acquisition and modeling, virtual visualization and interaction, multimedia and their applications.
Authors are solicited to contribute to the Conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects and experiences that describe significant advances in the following subjects, organized in four main tracks, two oriented to technological developments, and two to application oriented researches. Topics include, but are not limited to, those listed below.

Prospective authors are invited to submit technical or application papers. Papers should describe original and unpublished work on the topics of the conference and must be written in English. The papers must be formatted in IEEE double column, single space format. The length must not exceed 4 pages for short papers and 8 pages for long papers (including figures, tables and references). Authors are invited to present a non-mandatory abstract two weeks in advance of the paper submission in order to make smoother the revision process through a selection of the most suitable reviewers.
Prospective authors are invited to submit technical or application Demos. A 2m x 2m booth will be assigned to each demo for the duration of the whole conference. A description of the demo will be published on the proceedings as short paper, and a short presentation will be given in a specific session.
Workshops will be held on the first three days of the conference. A brief proposal (up to 2 pages) should be submitted to the Workshop chair within March 9th, 2012. Proposals for Workshops must include a title, an outline of the Workshop and its motivations, a short description of the material to be covered, contacts information including: name; affiliation; email; mailing address and a two pages CV for each presenter.
Special sessions proposals could be submitted to the Technical Program chair. Proposal for Special Sessions must include a topical title, rationale, session outline, contact information for the session chair(s) and authors who have agreed to present a paper in the session, with a tentative title and short abstract (3000 chars max) for each paper.
Papers, Demos, Workshops and Special Sessions will be accepted only by electronic submission through this site.
